A meal out

Stephanie and Dave were staying with Mum this weekend as they were visiting from the Midlands. We went for a meal with them and also to celebrate James’ birthday.

We went to the Feathers for a traditional Sunday Carvery and despite the service being a little slow, we had a fantastic meal and it was lovely to see Steph and Dave again.

Back to School!

Ok, not quite school as I am a bit past that but I did venture back into college this week!

For some mad reason I have decided to do an NVQ3 in childcare, learning and development!
I attended an interview this week and have been accepted onto the course which starts on Thursday.

I am looking forward to it from the respect that it will give me lots of options for the future, however I’m not quite sure how I will fit in all the work, assignment writing and portfolio building.

Watch this space, I will keep you updated…

James’ Birthday

James worked today so didn’t do anything too exciting for his birthday, however we did go to the Belgian Monk as is traditional for his birthday for yet another lovely meal and lots of belgian beers!

We were joined by lots of friends, thanks to everyone who made it.

His pressies were a jacket off the girls, a mini tripod off mum and dad and lots of money as he is looking to upgrade his pc!

New Years Day

Today we went to Beryl and Richards for a traditional New Years Day dinner.

We had a lovely roast and enjoyed the day with them. We didn’t stay too long as Beryl was a bit under the weather, hopefully we didn’t wear her out too much.

Thanks for a lovely meal as always.

Christmas Day

Christmas was very different this year to previous years.

Mum and Dad spent the day with Andrew and Debbie and Beryl and Richard joined us after lunch.

Mum and Dad stayed Christmas Eve night so they were here to open pressies with us in the morning and then headed off mid morning to Andrew’s.

I cooked a turkey meal (thanks Richard for another lovely turkey) just for the 4 of us which was lovely and quiet!

Beryl and Richard joined us just after 2 and amongst other things helped to put James’ table football together!

We had a lovely afternoon with them and they headed home just after 8.

We were all totally spoilt as usual and I couldn’t begin to list the gifts but thank you to everyone and I promise I will get those thank you letters out…

Rabbit mark 2

Well Rabbit was never found so I can only assume it was lost at nursery.

Amie has recovered quite quickly and I presented her with a new rabbit today.

It’s very different (not pink for a start!) but she seems to love it just as much!

A very sad day…!

Today, despite being Amie’s birthday, was a very sad day for Amie.

Anyone who knows Amie will know Rabbit…this is a gorgeous pink bunny that has been everywhere with Amie since she was born…sadly today rabbit was lost!

We have got no idea where rabbit is, it has either been lost on the route from nursery (we’ve walked this 3 times since!) or is hidden at home or nursery somewhere!

I have searched every hidey hole I can think of and it is nowhere to be seen so we are on the hunt for a rabbit replacement! Wish us luck!

Amie, to her credit has been very brave and grown up…she’s been a bit teary now and again but is still going to sleep really well.

Will keep you updated with the hunt for a replacement! I am hoping once we have bought something, rabbit will surface!

Amie’s 4th Birthday

Today was Amie’s 4th birthday!

We woke nice and early and she received our present of a very posh dolls house which she absolutely loved!

Then she went to nursery with some chocolate cakes.

Tina and Finlay came over so we walked to pick her up from nursery, had a pressie opening session and then had lunch.

After lunch, the girls spent most of the afternoon playing with the dolls house and other pressies, Nanny came over mid afternoon and we were joined by the rest of the grandparents just after 5pm for a chip shop birthday tea!

This was followed by a pumpkin birthday cake.

Thanks to everyone who bought amie a gift…they were all very much appreciated!
