Our very own Vegetable garden!

Well not quite, just lots of pots scattered over the window sill!

We have lots of tomato shoots and a couple of strawberry shoots!

Amie came home from nursery yesterday with a pot which she assures me is peas ??????

And we have bought some carrot seeds to grow!

Next on the list is mushrooms!

A very happy little girl!

Well, it would seem the tomato seeds Amie planted on Friday are shooting already!

As you can imagine Amie is very chuffed with this, however I’m surprised they’ve grown that much in the space of 4 days! I didn’t think we’d fed them with some kind of super growing fertiliser!

I’ll try and get some photos on (for amie’s benefit) and we’ll keep you posted with the progress! I hope we get some fruit after all this!

No sign of the strawberries yet though which is what I was most looking forward to!

Green fingers

I’ve always wanted a herb and vegetable garden but sadly I don’t have the room for that in my garden. Maybe one day I’ll get round to putting something in pots!

So Amie and I have settled for trying to grow strawberries and tomatoes!!!!!! We’ve planted seeds which might be a complete disaster. I’m hoping Amie will have the patience to wait for them to grow otherwise I might have to sneak some strawberry plants in and pretend they’ve grown!!!

We’ll keep you posted and put any photos up (if they ever do grow!)

Opticians

Today we went for the first of what I’m sure will be many trips to the opticians to get Amie’s glasses repaired! The poor little thing fell over and landed on them so they got rather bent and wouldn’t stay on!

They’re fixed for now so let’s see how long they last this time!

A new TV!

Well James has finally carried out his threat and has treated himself to a new tv!

It’s a Sony HD LCD tv (he’ll give you all the techie details!)

It’s certainately bigger than our old tv and the children love it because Dora and all their other programmes are much bigger!

Here’s a piccy of James’ new toy!

New walls

James has spent the beginning of our holiday painting our bedroom.

We went for a purple feature wall and taupe for the other walls and I think it looks quite striking!

It was a good way to spring clean, the room had a huge dust and de-cobweb! We also bought a new curtain pole and matching lamps…just need a lightshade!

Well done James!

My new hair!

Well today I decided to bite the bullet and had my hair cut short….very short!

Well it’s shoulder length but it’s short for me (and it’s also blonde again!)

I am very pleased with it and I am so glad I had it done, I just hope everyone else likes it as much as I do!

A week away

James had a week away this week (bet it was quiet for him).

He was in London for a work related course. He went with another person from work so at least he wasn’t alone this time.

If you asked Amie where he was, she would say he was on a train! We dropped him off at the train station and that’s where she thought he was…bless her!

He treated the girls to some easter pressies. Bethany got a very lovely Easter bunny which we thought might replace tigger but she soon wanted tigger back at bedtime!

Amie got a Dora the Explorer board game which she loves and hasn’t tired of playing with even after the 100th time!

As for us, we had a busy week. We had Rose for a few extra days which was lovely and we were well looked after by our friends.

Danielle came and stayed with us Monday night which I hope she enjoyed and Julie and Ange looked after us and cooked us tea.

Amie also got a big girls bike this week. It’s a pink Barbie bike (to match her glasses!). She had a little trike but was struggling to pedal it so we decided to get her a new bike to help her to learn to ride.

Welcome home James, it’s good to have you back.

Here’s a piccy of Amie’s new bike

Amie’s glasses

Amie and I went for her eye test today (Thanks Julie for looking after Bethany!) and she is now the proud owner of some very pink barbie glasses!

Although it’s taking a bit of getting used to, she looks very cute in them.

Mother’s Day

Despite waking up with excrutiating back ache and neither of us getting much sleep during the night because of the wind we had a lovely Mother’s Day today.

I was treated to a VERY big box of chocolates and some white lillies (which are my favourite) and a lovely card. Amie also made me a rose at playgroup and a plate for mothers day which were lovely. She wouldn’t show me the rose because it was a surprise. Sadly she ruined my other surprise yesterday when she told me her and daddy had bought chocolates for me!

Mum and Dad came over for dinner but sadly the day wasn’t quite complete as Beryl and Richard were unable to join us because Beryl was feeling unwell - Get well soon Beryl.

I cooked chicken with garlic and lemon with baby potatoes and roasted veg…it was lovely and we have plenty of leftovers.

We had a lovely relaxing day and I was able to spend some time with Amie writing letters and numbers, she managed to write every letter in her name which was fantastic - well done Amie

I was supposed to be going Ice Skating tonight with Julie but we have given it a miss….hopefully we will get to go next week.

Thanks Amie, Bethany and James for a lovely day.

xx
