Another day, another eye test!
Today was Bethany’s turn for an eye test at the hospital!
We’re becoming part of the furniture!
They didn’t find anything wrong with her eyes (much to her dissapointment) but asked for her to go back again in 6 months just for another check. This was around the age we discovered Amie’s turn so it makes sense to get her checked out again.
So in the meantime she will have to continue pretending she has her own glasses!
No commentsA proud day!
Amie had her pre school boosters today and after a night of hardly any sleep for me worrying how to tell her she was having injections this morning, she took it all in her stride and didn’t even flinch when she had the injections and didn’t even cry!
I was so proud of her she got a new disney princess Belle and a promise of a big girls scooter if she carries on being good at swimming too!
As for Bethany, despite my objections to her using the potty, she has sat on it and used it twice! I wont be pushing her to potty train though because I don’t have the time or the energy at the moment!
Well done girls!
No commentsFood Hygiene
I attended a food hygiene course today. It’s very important to my job but a total waste of a saturday!
However, my whole house will be sterile by the end of the weekend!
No commentsFirst day back at school!
Tonight I attended my induction for the NVQ3 course I am taking and I am beginning to wonder what I’m letting myself in for!
There is going to be an awful lot of work and not much time for anything else by the sounds of it so I’ll see you all on the other side in 2 years time when I’ve come out of hibernation!
No commentsOrganising a weekend for the masses!
Some of you know that I run an online eSports team called the Screaming Ducks. Each year we get together for a long weekend and this its going to be held in Norwich, with yours truly organising it with Jen. The clan is made up of just over 30 people now and members are based all over Europe including countries such as Belgium, Holland, Ireland, Scotland and the majority in England.
We’re currently coming up with itinary for the weekend and we hope be doing things like visiting Norwich Castle, a day out on the broads, experiencing all that Gt. Yarmouth seafront offers or an evening at the Gt. Yarmouth Dogs.
I’ll keep you posted how the organising is going, however if you have a suggestion for something we could do over the weekend feel free to let us know.
No commentsJean-Michel Jarre Concert
Well I’m really excited as I managed to get hold of two tickets to see Jean-Michel Jarre this morning, He will be performing a one off concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London celebrating the 30th anniversary of his album Oxygene. The show is being held on the Sunday 30th March, which isnt that far off already.
I’m not sure if Jen is too keen to go but she’s up for coming along for a day out, even if she doesn’t like his music. The fun bit is going to be driving in and around London to get to the place. I’ve pre-booked a parking space nearby so hopefully it wont be too difficult.
No commentsA meal out
Stephanie and Dave were staying with Mum this weekend as they were visiting from the Midlands. We went for a meal with them and also to celebrate James’ birthday.
We went to the Feathers for a traditional Sunday Carvery and despite the service being a little slow, we had a fantastic meal and it was lovely to see Steph and Dave again.
No commentsBack to School!
Ok, not quite school as I am a bit past that but I did venture back into college this week!
For some mad reason I have decided to do an NVQ3 in childcare, learning and development!
I attended an interview this week and have been accepted onto the course which starts on Thursday.
I am looking forward to it from the respect that it will give me lots of options for the future, however I’m not quite sure how I will fit in all the work, assignment writing and portfolio building.
Watch this space, I will keep you updated…
No commentsNew Look Blog
Well it was time to update the blog and give it a bit of a facelift. Hope you like the new theme.
No commentsJames’ Birthday
James worked today so didn’t do anything too exciting for his birthday, however we did go to the Belgian Monk as is traditional for his birthday for yet another lovely meal and lots of belgian beers!
We were joined by lots of friends, thanks to everyone who made it.
His pressies were a jacket off the girls, a mini tripod off mum and dad and lots of money as he is looking to upgrade his pc!
