Amie’s 3rd Birthday
Today was Amie’s 3rd birthday. Where have those 3 years gone?!
We had a party for her on Sunday with some food, music, balloons and some cake! We also bought a disco ball and bubble machine which all the children loved.
As for her birthday, Tina came over during the day for lunch and bought Amie a travel desk for her to colour on in the car. It was a very pink My Little Pony one and she loved it!
Grandma and Grandad came over for tea, we had fish and chips followed by a very pink My Little Pony cake (can you see a trend?)
They bought her a moon chair which is now her tv chair! We had a few fights over it but Bethany is getting one for Christmas (don’t tell her) so hopefully she can wait patiently for then!
She also got some shoes and a buggy off Nanny and Grandad. Lots of clothes, a vtech laptop, some garden toys, a doctors case, a vets case, PJ’s, a shopping basket full of food and loads of things I have forgotten!
All in all, she had a very nice birthday and was a very lucky little lady. Thanks everyone for your gifts, thank you cards will be on their way soon!

And Relax…For now..
Well I’m pleased to say that I’ve managed to retain my job and will be continuing employment with my current place of work. Sadly some of the people in my team didn’t fair so well as one person has been ‘displaced’ and is now officially on gardening leave. It was awful to have to see him tidy up his desk, gather his belongings and say goodbye to us all.
Another one of my colleages is being moved to new team and seemed rather pleased with the outcome as he felt he was going to be made redundant. Whilst another in my team applied for voluntary redundancy and successfully got it and is optimistic about doing something new.
Looking forward, despite keeping my job, the role I do will be changing. We’re going to be working with our outsourcing parnters and the day-to-day duties will change as a result. Whether this brings the benefits my company wants I’m not sure however for now I’m thankful that I’m not one of the people looking for another job!
No commentsD-Day At Work
Well I’ve not posted on my blog for sometime now as generally I leave that to Jen to update and let everyone know what we’ve been up to as a family. However I’ve had a lot of support from my friends and family over the past month about my current work situation.
For those that aren’t aware, my employer has decided to reduce its headcount drastically, in favour of moving some of the services it provides to an offshore partner. This has resulted in me having to reapply for my job and go through a formal self-assessment process. Whilst this hasn’t exactly been an easy thing to go through, it did give me the opportunity to sell myself and my skills.
Tomorrow is D-Day as far as finding out my fate as to whether I’ve been made redundant or not. I’m optimistic of the outcome and will report back what actually happened tomorrow.
No commentsBethany Walks!
Ok so it’s only 4 or 5 steps but she’s getting there!
She thinks she’s clever now, watch this space for an update!
No commentsAvon order
Today I put my first avon order in.
Thanks to the help of family and friends, my sales exceeded £250!
That was soooo much more than I expected, I just hope it carries on!
No commentsCallums party
We went over to Lowestoft today for Callum’s birthday party.
He had it at an indoor play centre called Pirates Cove. They have soft play there and they also had a football pitch where they have a game of football too.
Amie thoroughly enjoyed herself. She didn’t understand football but loved running up and down the pitch after the boys! Hope that’s not a sign of things to come!
No commentsHAPPY BIRTHDAY CALLUM!
Today is Callum’s (my nephew) 6th birthday (yes he’s 6 already!)
Mum took Amie home so she could see Callum on his birthday and have some cake with him.
She stayed the night with Nanny and Grandad and they are bringing her back tomorrow
No commentsDinner out
Yesterday was James’ dad’s (Richard) 60th Birthday.
We went out for dinner at the Marlingford Bell wiith both Beryl and Richard and my Mum and Dad.
The meal was lovely, we all had a roast dinner. The girls had some of everyone’s and they were absolute stars. They made us very proud.
We bought Richard a tripod for his new camera and the girls bought him a photo frame which said “Grandad” on it. Mum and dad bought him a very nice clock.
We took a lovely photo of Richard with the girls to go in his new frame.
Thanks for inviting us, we had a lovely day!
No commentsA new job - Kind of!
Before we went away I agreed to become an Avon representative.
I didn’t expect to make lots of money but I thought I’d give it a go over Christmas and see how I got on.
Today I had my sales leader come round and talk to me about the job and to sign me up!
Here goes, let’s see how it goes.
