A grown up party

We had a grown up party for Bethany’s birthday today.

We had a few friends over, cooked spaghetti bolognaise for tea and had a few glasses of wine.

Bethany had a few more presents and we send our appreciation once again to everyone who bought her gifts.

Amie’s first proper haircut!

Amie went to the hairdressers today. It’s the first time she’d had her hair cut at the hairdressers and she was a bit nervous.

She was very brave though, she sat on my lap and wriggled a little bit but didn’t cry. They didn’t take much off and didn’t cut the fringe as I said I wanted to grow that out but she put some layers in the back and tidied it up a little bit.

Bethany’s 1st birthday

Well today was a day of milestones and was also Bethany’s 1st birthday.

We cannot believe a year has gone already, she is growing up far too quick!

We went to the playbarn in the afternoon and then had our parents round for tea. Bethany was a very lucky girl and had lots of lovely pressies.

Grandma and Grandad got her a car for the garden, Amie had great fun pushing her round in it! They also gave her some money in a very cute money box

Nanny and Grandad got her a pram and doll (so she doesn’t have to share Amie’s)

She got lots of clothes, some toys for the garden, bath toys, a book and a jigsaw. Thanks everyone for your lovely gifts, they were very much appreciated.

Grandma and Grandad also got Amie some sweets so she didn’t feel left out!

Amie’s first day at Nursery!

Today was Amie’s first day at nursery and she loved it!

She went with her friend Harvey and they both seemed quite excited at walking together. They walked hand in hand and Harvey promised to look after Amie as she had not been to nursery before!

We got there and they had to find the butterfly with their name on it. I asked Amie for a kiss goodbye and then she wobbled! She thought about crying and said that she didn’t want to go but Harvey took her hand and said he’d look after her! Bless him, he is a good boy!

They came out together with a new teddy each. The nursery give them a teddy to help them settle in. We thought that was a lovely touch and Amie loves her new teddy bear!

She had done lots of painting and sang some songs. I later found out that one of the nursery assistants had spent around half an hour making play doh food for her!

A first tooth!

Well, a day before her first birthday, Bethany finally got her first tooth!

I was beginning to think she didn’t have any teeth in her gums and would permanently have false teeth but it would seem that she has!

Amie was very excited when she saw it but commented on how little it was compared to her big teeth - bless her!

Watch this space, she’ll probably have a full set of teeth by the time she wakes up in the morning!
