Journey home
We drove home today.
We left the cottage at 9.30 and decided to head straight home so that Bethany could have a nice long sleep.
Amie was very good in the car, did some colouring, played with toys and sung a few songs!
We made very good time and got home around 2pm.
No commentsLunch out
We were going on the peak railway today, only to find it was closed during the week!
We took a drive to Ripley and decided to have some lunch out. We had a very lovely lunch at The Red Lion which is a weatherspoons. James and I had burgers and the children had spaghetti bolonaise. After lunch we dodged the showers and had a walk round town.
After this, we headed to Bakewell to get some Bakewell tarts and James treated me to a lovely top.
A great day was had by all!
No commentsA drive
We went for a drive today as James wanted to try and find Padley Gorge for some photographs.
We had a very lovely lunch and then went for a walk.
We then went for a drive to the mountain to take some more photos.
We then went for a drive back along the scenic route to Buxton and had a walk round there.
No commentsThe Heights of Abraham
We had very, very sleepless night with Bethany. She was very upset and unsettled. She woke up with and extra 2 teeth!
We decided to go to the Heights of Abraham in Matlock as it was a very clear day. We got the cable car to the top and had a walk round. There was some fantastic views from the top which you will see from the photos.

Amie and Daddy went into the caves while I stayed outside with a very miserable Bethany (she doesn’t like getting teeth!).
We walked back to the top, had a look in the gift shop and caught the cable car back down again.
We then walked into Matlock, had some very nice chips for lunch, then walked to an ice cream parlour and had a look round the gift shops.
We got home early so the girls could get to bed on time as they were shattered from their interrupted night!
The Tramway museum
We went to the Tram museum in Crich today.
Amie had a lovely time looking at all the old trams and busses, we bought some sweets from an old fashioned sweet shop and had a ride on the tram.
She went upstairs with daddy while I stayed on the lower deck with Bethany (didn’t fancy a climb up a tiny spiral staircase while holding Bethany!)
Bethany made lots of friends on the lower deck by charming everyone with her smile and I could hear Amie upstairs giving Daddy a running commentary.

We had a walk round Bakewell and then headed home.
Bethany was a bit grumpy today and could only put it down to teething.
Chesterfield
We went to Chesterfield today as it was Market day.
We had a walk round town, bought Amie’s birthday pressie, had a look round the market and bought some lunch. We then went to see the church with the crooked spire to eat our lunch.

We then headed back to the cottage so that Bethany could have a nap as she is still a bit under the weather.
A trip to Denby
We went to the town of Denby today to visit the Denby factory shop and stock up on wine glasses because ours keep breaking!
We got a few glasses and some dinner plates.
We then had some lunch and had a drive round to see where we were.
The girls were sleeping in the same room and were both doing very well.
No commentsA drive to Derbyshire
We went to Derbyshire today for the week.
James had already had a week off but we were going away for the second week of his hols.
We got away on time at 9am and the girls were very good in the car. We stopped for lunch and arrived at Sheldon Cottage in Moneyash at 4pm.
We were greeted by one of the owners and she showed us around her very lovely cottage.
We had an early night, ready for the next day.
No commentsNew shoes
Amie got some new shoes today. Nanny and Grandad bought them for her for her birthday but she got them early as she was desperate for shoes!
She was very proud of them, they’re navy with navy bows on the front!
No commentsA long but fab day!
We drove to the West Midlands today for Zach’s christening.
We were up at 5.30 in the morning, left at 6.30. We got the girls up just as we were leaving thinking they would fall back to sleep….Bethany stayed awake until 4.30pm!
They were both really good in the car, we got there around 10am, got them dressed and then went for a walk (hoping Bethany would go to sleep).
She didn’t! She was a bit whingey during the service and fell asleep in her buggy right at the very end. Unfortunately, she only slept for 5 mins as we then had to put her in the car. She woke up and didn’t go back to sleep!
Both girls were very good throughout the party. Ate lots of food (as usual). Bethany fell asleep as soon as we got in the car to travel home and again, Amie was very good.
We got home just after 7pm, they had their milk, went to bed and fell fast asleep!
As for the Christening, it was a lovely day, Jaime, Richard and Zach looked lovely and seemed to enjoy their day. It was lovely to be able to share it with them.
