Bethany’s Christening

We had Bethany’s Christening today and had a very lovely day with all our friends and families.

Bethany had her Christening dress on and Amie had a lovely party dress and both had fluffy cardigans knitted by their grandma.

Bethany was spoilt rotten, thanks to all who came for their generous gifts.

And special thanks to Adam, Ange, Debbie and Howard who were fantastic godparents!

Take That….

Wow they were fantastic!

I went to see Take That with Ange and they were absolutely brilliant. We went to Birmingham by coach and had an absolutely fantastic day!

They sung all the old classics and were even better than I remember.

I got a lovely t-shirt to remember the day by.

We’re looking forward to their next concert.

The flu

Amie and I have been struck down by the flu. It started on Sunday and typically I had to drag myself out of bed because James was working overtime and couldn’t look after the girls!

That was a bit of an effort but luckily Amie was ill too so we have both spent the last three days lying on the sofa.

We’ve had a quiet few days though as I’ve not been able to talk much due to a lack of voice, we cancelled our day with Ange yesterday and were not able to make catterpillars today. Let’s hope we feel up to going out tomorrow.

The Watts’ Wedding

We went to Rachel and Robyn’s wedding today, it was a lovely occasion and was arguably the best day of the year weather wise!

They got married in All Saints church in Horsford with the reception at Horsford Villiage hall.

We both know Rachel and Robyn from our Virgin days and they have a young son called Toby.

The wedding was at 2pm so we left early and had a drive around in the hope that Bethany would sleep, needless to say she didn’t.

I went armed with a bottle of milk so that when the tired grizzliness kicks in I could distract her with that.

All the way through the service, photos and the journey to the hall she was wide awake and as good as gold!

They kept the reception low key and we had a lovely hot and cold buffet.

Bethany had the decency to sleep during the half an hour we had our food so she was quite happy during the speeches.

Amie was fairly good all day and had Dylan there to keep her company. She was a bit irritable during the church but was pacified with a biscuit!

We left around 8.30 as Bethany was suffering from sleep deprivation and Amie was almost asleep on her feet!

A lovely day was had my all, the bride looked gorgeous (we have photos which we’ll put on) and we got to meet up with some old friends we haven’t seen for a long time.

A piece of toast!

Bethany had her first piece of toast today and loved it.

She’ll be trying a cheese spread sandwich tomorrow!

Poorly, poorly girl

Bethany has been poorly again for about a week.

She has a very nasty cough and sounds as though she’s been smoking for the last 20 years!

She’s still her happy smiley self though.

Easter Sunday

We went to Caister to visit James’ aunt Ivy and uncle Jeff with Beryl and Richard. They had not met Bethany and it’s been a while since they have seen Amie.
It was lovely to see them both. Unfortunately it was a fairly short visit as Bethany was very tired and poorly as she had a nasty cough and cold. She got quite upset so we took her home after a while.

Keira’s Birthday

Today was Keira’s 1st birthday and we went over for her party.

They had a bouncy castle in the garden which the older children (and adults) loved!

We also had an easter egg hunt in the garden which all the children loved. Especially Amie who had help to fill her party bag up and ended up with more chocolate than anyone else!

A fantastic buffet was laid out by Ange, and a good time was had by all!

Happy Birthday Keira xx

The last week

Not much has happened so I thought I’d just give you a summary of the week.

Bethany has learnt to sit up on her own which is very exciting news. She’s being a very clever girl. Although she does lose her concentration when Amie distracts her and ends up wobbling like a weeble and banging her head on the floor !! All part of growing up I guess!

We’ve decided to have a bit of spring cleaning…Amie and I spent all day Monday cleaning, hoovering and washing toys and James finished it off today.

We just need to do the gardening now which shouldn’t take too long thanks to the little helpers we had in September making it a much easier garden to look after.

That’s about it really, today is Good Friday and the start of a bank holiday weekend. We’ve got so much to do and haven’t got a day free so we’re keeping very busy. The sun is shining which is fantastic news!

Green fingered Amie

Amie has taken advantage of the nicer weather and has been spending more and more time in the Garden.

She received a little gardening set off her nanny and grandad for Easter (i know it’s early!) so she’s been “doing” my gardening.

As I type this I’m watching her digging holes in the ground, putting stones in her playhouse and getting absolutely filthy !!

Still, she’s having a lovely time and the fresh air will make her sleep well tonight!
