Mother’s Day and Birthdays…

Today we had both of our parents round for Mother’s Day and Mum’s 50th Birthday.

We had a lovely day, both our Mum’s got some flowers and we bought Mum some earrings for her birthday.

As for me, I received the new Harry Potter DVD and some lovely chocolates.

It was lovely having everyone together and we laid on a lunch of sandwiches, sausage rolls (thanks Beryl), crisps, pasta (thanks Mum) and freshly baked bread (thanks breadmaker!).

Amie and Bethany enjoyed all the attention of their grandparents and I think the grandparents enjoyed spoiling them with lots of attention!

Amie has learnt to differentiate between her grandads and now calls them Grandad Williams and Grandad Thomas!

Thanks everyone for a lovely day!xx

The Swan Inn

We went out for a meal tonight to celebrate Mum’s 50th birthday (which is on Mothers’ day this year).

We went with Mum and Dad and Andrew and Debbie.

We had a very lovely meal. The restuarant specialises in fish dishes so we all had fish except James who had steak!

Th girls were stars, Amie enjoyed being out late and all the attention she was getting. Bethany had a bit of a cry in her buggy, but was fine once she was asleep.

Dad had organised a cake for Mum so the staff bought that out singing happy birthday to her.

A good night was had by all!

Right and left….

Amie has learnt which is her right and which is her left!
Well done Amie you are a clever girl!

Playgroup

We went to playgroup again today.

Amie wasn’t quite as keen on it as she was the first time. She joined in and played and had a lovely time but she wouldn’t sit with the other children when they had a drink and she didn’t want to sit on th floor and sing songs with them.

Bethany on the other hand was tired and screamed all the way through !! One of the assistants looked after her for me so I could spend some time with Amie - all good fun !!

Let’s hope it gets better as the weeks go on!

Share and share alike

Well, not one to keep things to myself, I decided to share my nasty bug with James. The only person not to get it is Amie - YET!

No Catterpillars

Unfortunately Amie couldn’t go to playgroup today as Bethany and I have been struck down with a nasty sickness bug.

Bethany got it on Thursday and seemed better Saturday morning but it fell apart at lunchtime and she’s been poorly ever since. She seems better today and we’re getting smiles from her again.

Unfortunately I came down with it yesterday (Monday) and am still suffering

We just hope Amie and James don’t get it.

Little Catterpillars

Amie started playgroup today which was called Little Catterpillars.

She absolutely loved it.

She did painting, hand painting, drawing, riding tractors, reading, and my little ponies.

They then have tidy up time which all the children help with, followed by milk and biscuits and then a sing song.

Typical Amie though, all of the other children sat on the floor in a circle for the sing song and Amie decided to sit on the cushions in the corner - she’s not daft!

Danielle’s birthday

We went out for a meal today for Danielle’s 11th birthday. We went to sgt peppers in Lowestoft and had a very lovely meal.

Amie had chips, a bit of my chicken and a plateful of salad (although she didn’t seem to keen on the celery !!).

She also had a huge piece of birthday cake.

Bethany was very good, she sat in her buggy all the way through the meal, was wide awake (when she should have been asleep) and didn’t make a sound!

Happy Birthday Danielle.

Baking…..

Amie and I decided we were going to bake cakes today !!

We made some mini muffins with banana flavoured icing and “twinkle” stars on top (or so Amie called them)!!

Amie seemed to enjoy doing it, unfortunately, I had someone else to lick the spoon which has always been my job.

Anyway, the proof was in the pudding as they say and they’ve now all gone. They were mini muffins and were gone in one mouthful so it’s not surprising they’re all gone.
