The Christening is booked
We have finalised the details of Bethany’s Christening.
She’s being Christened on the 30th April with a party afterwards.
We’re looking forward to celebrating with our friends and family.
No commentsAh So!
No I haven’t gone mad !!
We went out for a meal at a Japense restuarant called Ah So for our friend Kev’s birtday.
It was an absolutely fantastic meal and we’ll definately be going back there again.
We had steak, duck and chicken which was cooked in various sauces etc with some very garlicky egg fried rice.
I also tried Sushi for the first time which I have to say, was a lot nicer than I expected.
We also drank too much wine….!!

Me, Mum and the girls have just returned from a trip to the West Midlands for a long overdue visit. We had a lovely time seeing people we haven’t seen for a very long time, here’s our daily diary.
Thursday 9th February:
The weekend started today with the journey. Both girls were very good considering the drive was just under 4 hours. We stayed with Steph and Dave and had a very lovely spaghetti bolognaise for tea and lots of wine!
Friday 10th February:
We went to visit Christine in the morning. She’s a very old schoolfriend of Mum’s and they have known each other for around 45 years !! We haven’t seen her for a while and it was lovely to see her looking so well.
In the afternoon we went to see Jaime and her expanding family. Jaime and Rich have just welcomed baby Zachary into their family so we went to see them, meet the little man and we also saw Lesley (Jaime’s mum) and Danielle (Jaime’s sister). We also exchanged Christmas pressies as we didn’t get to see them at Christmas. It was nice to extend Christmas into February. We all had some lovely pressies and hope they were as pleased with theirs.
We went back to Steph and Dave’s for the most gorgeous Roast lamb dinner I have ever tasted (along with lots of wine !!). Thanks Dave that was fab.
Saturday 11th February:
Today we went to visit Grandma in the morning. She had just returned from South Africa so she was very tired bless her. Auntie Marcia was also there.
In the afternoon we went to vist Auntie Amy and Uncle Fred. They’re Mum’s aunt and uncle. It was so lovely to see them after such a long time, and they made us feel very welcome. Amie had her first ever cup of tea which she enjoyed immensly and Mum was introduced to the new Joey. Auntie Amy and Uncle Fred always have a budgie. Unfortunately, Mum isn’t a lover of birds. We’d been there a while before she noticed the cage was open and Joey was missing, after a quick scour round the room, she noticed him on the window…he decided to fly towards her and she jumped out of her skin !! It was quite amusing but not for Mum !!
Amie befriended a pottery dog which was in front of the tele. She picked it up and took it everywhere with her, we were so frightened of her dropping it and smashing it but she was very careful. She sat it on her lap and talked to it, she was also playing with a wallking Pig and chicken (which sung the birdie song), they were walking round the room singing and grunting and Amie kept moving the poor dog out of the way so they didn’t get it - bless her!
We returned to Steph and Daves for a chicken in cream sauce with rice (again very lovely) and again followed by wine…
Sunday 12th February:
Today we were due to come home. We packed the car up, got two very tired little girls into the car and went to the Himley House Hotel for a lovely Sunday lunch before our journey. Amie enjoyed her own mini carvery (with chips) and had some of our very messy chocolate desserts. We have a photo as evidence of the mess she made !!
We then said our goodbyes and made our way back home.
We had a lovely weekend and our thanks goes to Steph and Dave for making us feel very welcome and providing us with lovely food and lots of wine!
Here’s some photos from our trip:
It’s a me! Mario (Kart)
I recently bought myself a shiny Nintendo DS for the sole purpose of playing the newly released Mario Kart on it. Mario Kart is one of my all-time favourite games and the chance to play it again on a portable was too much of a temptation.
Best of all is that this new version is the first game to take advantage of Nintendo WiFi and its totally fab! Even better is the fact its so simple to find someone to play against, as it automatically finds 3 available players and off you go. Friends can also be located using their Friends Code.
The SP mode has its usually quality with 50cc, 100cc and 150cc cups. A Gran Turismo type Mission mode has also been added.
There’s only one problem with the game tho…the fact I can’t put it down!
